Prerequisites & Terms for the Professional Activity of Ski Instructors and Ski Academies at VSC

Teaching the sport of skiing is an activity directly connected to the operational needs of the Voras-Kaimaktsalan Ski Center and is very important for shaping customers’ skiing culture, reducing accidents, and the overall development of VSC. For these reasons, VSC establishes a professional ski instructor pass, addressed to interested organized ski schools and independent ski instructors, in order to cooperate in covering its increased needs for ski lesson services.

Interested parties may respond by submitting an application to VSC after the relevant announcement is posted in a visible place at the Branch premises and on the center’s official website www.kaimaktsalan.gr, under the following terms and prerequisites:

A. SKI SCHOOLS

Operating Requirements:
  1. Each ski school may employ as many instructors as it wishes and obtain the necessary professional passes for using VSC facilities from the Branch Management, depending on the scope of its activities.
    In any case, the minimum required number of passes for a ski school to be accepted and to establish itself at VSC is the purchase of fifteen (15) personal annual professional ski instructor passes,
    at a value of €600 each (total €9,000 for each school).
    The above amount shall be paid in advance in order for the school to commence operations within the premises of VSC.
  2. For schools that employ fifteen (15) or more instructors and pre-purchase at least 15 personal annual instructor passes, at €600 each, with a minimum total amount of €9,000 (15×€600) per school, an additional privilege of using an auxiliary space will be provided. The allocation of auxiliary spaces will be carried out under the responsibility of VSC Management, on a priority basis, taking into account the school’s capacity.
  3. The minimum required number of instructors (present at the ski center) for each school will be three (3) instructors, on weekdays and twelve (12) on weekends, holidays, high-season days, with an obligation for the school to operate all days of the week.The instructors who will be employed must be notified in due time to the Branch Management before the start of the School’s operation, and in addition, the Branch Management must be informed daily of any change in their presence.
  4. All schools may use, as their reference point, the areas indicated to them by VSC Management. There, the VSC customer may be informed about the services provided and choose a school according to their preferences and needs.
    In the area of each school, the school sign that may be displayed shall have dimensions no larger than 1m×2m. In addition, up to 2 flags, 1 cashier/reception stand, and a maximum of 5 chairs may be placed. (Placement points shall be subject to approval by the Center’s Management.)
    Furthermore, posting the price list in a visible place is mandatory, as well as prior notification to the Center’s Management.
    All the above may be modified at the sole discretion of HPPC S.A. and for reasons related to the smooth operation of the Center in general. The allocation of auxiliary spaces shall be made at the sole discretion of the Center’s Management.
    Any damage/wear caused to the premises, either due to the fault of the School or due to the fault of the School’s customers, shall be repaired by the School, and the premises shall be returned to HPPC S.A. in the condition in which they were delivered.
    For the provision of electricity, each School shall pay the amount of one hundred euros (€100.00) to the Center’s Financial Management office.
  5. The sale and rental of ski equipment in the areas provided for use to the Schools is strictly prohibited. If such actions are detected, HPPC S.A. may terminate, without compensation (for ETAD S.A.), any cooperation and request the removal of the School and the immediate return of the cards.
  6. Each school shall have its own uniform clothing, which must obligatorily display its official trade name.
  7. All instructors of the schools, without exception, are required to carry a card with their personal details and the distinctive title of their school on their uniform, in a manner and at a point that is clearly visible.
Required Supporting Documents (Ski Schools):

a. Application

b. Valid operating license for a Gym – ski school issued by the competent authority

c. Certificate of commencement of business activity for a private sports school
and certificate of registration with the competent professional chamber or as otherwise provided by applicable legislation / Tax ID / certified cash register and service receipt book, or as provided by applicable tax legislation.

d. Nominal list of the school’s instructors who will be active at VSC for each ski season, with certified photocopies of their degrees or diplomas. This list shall be updated in the event of any change.
It is noted that ski lessons may be delivered by graduates of the G.G.A. ski coach schools holding a professional practice license issued by the General Secretariat for Sports, graduates of TEFAA with a skiing specialty, and graduates of TEFAA who have taken skiing as an elective course.

e. Individual employment contracts of instructors – employees and copies of the submitted hiring notification tables in ERGANI. The hiring notification is a necessary element for the purchase of a professional pass.
During the ski season, the school must submit to the Center’s Management monthly employment statements for instructors/teachers via ERGANI.

f. Detailed price list of all lesson categories.

g. Certificate from the competent Directorate of HPPC S.A. that they are financially compliant and have settled any financial outstanding matter toward HPPC S.A.

h. Statutory Declarations:

  • Statutory Declaration that the school will responsibly provide its services to customers – skiers and will comply with the General Terms of Use of VSC facilities, as stated.
  • Statutory Declaration by the entrepreneur appointing the School Director (as stated on its operating license) and their substitute in case of absence. The person responsible for the school or their substitute must be a graduate of a Department of Physical Education & Sport Science (TEFAA) of a Greek or equivalent foreign university, with a skiing specialty, and must be continuously present during the operation of VSC and the school.
  • Statutory Declaration of daily operation with a minimum number of instructors: 3 on weekdays and 12 on holidays for the months December through April, i.e., for the entire duration of the ski season.

B. INDEPENDENT SKI INSTRUCTORS

Activity Requirements:
  1. Independent instructors will operate at VSC strictly on an individual basis, without the right to use any auxiliary staff.
  2. They will be accepted only upon their application with the necessary legal documents, so that they can obtain from the Branch Management—according to the provisions above also applicable to Schools—the prescribed professional instructor pass (multi-day category).
  3. All independent instructors may use a common area as a meeting point with clients. There, the VSC customer may be informed about the services provided and choose according to their preferences and needs. The area will be indicated and demarcated by VSC Management.
  4. All instructors, without exception, are required to carry a card with their personal details on their uniform, in a manner and at a point that is clearly visible.
Required Supporting Documents (Independent Instructors – Trainers):

a. Application

b. Degree and professional practice license as a ski instructor issued by the competent authority.

c. Certificate of commencement of business activity
and certificate of registration with the competent professional chamber / Tax ID / certified cash register and service receipt book, or as provided by applicable tax legislation.

d. Declaration of a detailed price list of all lesson categories.

e. Certificate from the competent Directorate of HPPC S.A. that they are financially compliant and have settled any financial outstanding matter toward HPPC S.A.

g. Statutory Declaration
that the independent instructor – trainer will responsibly provide their services to customers – skiers and will comply with the General Terms of Use of VSC facilities, as stated in ANNEX B.


C. General terms for schools and independent ski instructors – ski trainers

  1. The schools and independent instructors – trainers cooperating with VSC will have the exclusive right to provide ski lessons to VSC customers in the outdoor snow-covered teaching areas provided by VSC, as well as in all ski areas of VSC.
    In any other case where the provision of lessons by an instructor not cooperating with VSC is detected (schools and sports clubs of the EOH are excluded), the relevant recommendations will be made and, in case of non-compliance, the validity of the instructor’s pass will be terminated, without refund of the ticket price.
  2. Each cooperating school or independent instructor – trainer shall be permitted to transact with customers and to display/post its/his/her name – logo only in the designated transaction area for ski schools and instructors and nowhere else.
  3. Advertising signs or other promotional actions will be permitted only after written permission by VSC/HPPC and after payment of the relevant financial consideration, according to the applicable price list.
  4. The ski schools and independent ski trainers are exclusively responsible for the safety of the persons they train, and HPPC S.A. reserves the right to request the submission of an insurance policy. In the event of an accident during instruction, they are obliged to assist VSC piste patrol in first aid and transport of the injured person up to the point of handover to the ambulance.
  5. The schools and independent trainers, when conducting lessons outside the organized VSC facilities (off-piste ski, free ride, ski tour, etc.), are obliged to carry the appropriate safety – rescue equipment against alpine hazards. HPPC S.A. has the right, at its sole discretion, to conduct an inspection of the above equipment.
  6. All instructors shall have the right to bypass the waiting line only at the beginner lifts (Baby lift), where students are beginners and small children, and assistance for safe boarding – disembarking by the instructors is mandatory.
  7. The schools and independent instructors – trainers shall have the right to use the race/training slope with their students (schools, sports clubs, individual training), following timely submission of a request and written approval by the competent HPPC S.A. service.
  8. In case of misconduct, which will be assessed by VSC Management in accordance with the applicable terms, VSC’s cooperation with the school or the instructor will be terminated, without refund of the ticket price.
  9. The cooperating schools and their instructors, as well as the independent instructors – trainers, will be presented as official partners on VSC’s website, through which VSC customers will be informed in order to have the option to choose for proper service and safety, and to eliminate phenomena of choosing instructors without verified formal qualifications or instructors operating illegally.
    We note that HPPC S.A. will recommend to the Center’s visitors, for their own safety, the selection of instructors from the schools and independent ski instructors whose formal qualifications have been checked.
  10. It is not permitted for those who have not obtained the professional activity pass from VSC (so that their supporting documents have been submitted and checked) to wear on their clothing the title “ski instructor” or any other designation indicating the status of a ski instructor.
    Likewise, it is not permitted for employees of ski schools who are employed for administrative support, information, or cashier duties, in order to avoid misleading visitors.
    It is permitted for the above persons to wear the ski school’s logo on their clothing.
  11. All professional instructors of the schools or individual instructors shall comply with the General Terms of Use of VSC facilities, as stated.
  12. The schools and independent ski trainers agree to the terms hereof and expressly accept that they will practice exclusively and only the profession of ski instructor at VSC facilities, excluding any other professional activity.
  13. It is noted that for both ski schools and independent trainers, submission of the relevant application to the Ski Center constitutes an unconditional acceptance of the above operating terms and prerequisites and of their cooperation with the Ski Center.
  14. Non-acceptance of the terms & prerequisites for the professional activity of ski schools and individual ski instructors, as well as of the general terms of use of VSC facilities, means inability to operate within the premises of VSC.
