TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE – VORAS SKI CENTER (VSC)

This document sets out the official Terms and Conditions of Use of the Voras Ski Center (VSC). All terminology, grammar, capitalization, and references have been standardized for legal, administrative, and official tourist use.

GENERAL TERMS OF USE OF FACILITIES

  1. Skiers and visitors use the facilities of the Voras Ski Center (VSC) with full awareness of the prevailing weather, snow, and geomorphological conditions and the risks arising therefrom.
  2. Skiers and visitors must be aware of potential risks inherent in any ski resort, including but not limited to the following: a. Accidents and/or injuries resulting from uneven terrain and/or ice. b. Accidents and/or injuries caused by natural obstacles such as trees, rocks, etc. c. Accidents and/or injuries caused by technical structures necessary for ski resort operation, such as pylons, ski lifts, grooming machines, and signage. d. Accidents and/or injuries caused by natural phenomena (avalanches, extreme weather events, landslides) or sudden weather changes (snowfall, strong winds, fog, rapid temperature fluctuations), which may adversely affect skiing activities.
  3. Use of the facilities shall always be carried out WITH CAUTION and in accordance with posted informational signs, staff instructions, and manufacturers’ guidelines. Any damage caused to VSC facilities shall result in penalties as provided by applicable legislation.
  4. Skiers and visitors must comply with staff instructions, posted signage, the FIS Skier’s Code of Conduct, and all VSC terms of use displayed in reception areas. Non-compliance may result in ticket revocation without refund and removal from the VSC facilities, temporarily or permanently, depending on the severity or recurrence of the violation.
  5. Visitors are responsible for maintaining self-control and showing respect toward others.
  6. The VSC bears no responsibility for accidents resulting from improper use of equipment or facilities, non-compliance with these terms, or lack of knowledge thereof.
  7. Visitors are solely responsible for safeguarding tickets, equipment, and personal belongings. The VSC bears no responsibility for loss, damage, or theft. Complaints or remarks may be submitted at the Info Desk using the relevant form.
  8. All persons using VSC facilities are deemed to have full knowledge and acceptance of these terms.
  9. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor areas of the VSC.
  10. Commercial activities are prohibited without the written consent of ETAD S.A.
  11. Ski instruction within VSC premises is permitted only to authorized persons holding a professional ticket and having submitted all required documentation to VSC Management. School instructors and coaches of athletic clubs affiliated with the Hellenic Ski Federation are exempt under specific conditions. Any violation results in immediate cancellation of the access card without refund. Ski lessons may be conducted only at designated locations by authorized instructors bearing valid identification. Solicitation of clients is strictly prohibited. Verified violations may result in removal or permanent ban from VSC premises.

OPERATING PERIODS AND OPENING HOURS

  1. The winter operating period extends from December to April, with commencement and termination dates determined annually by ETAD S.A. Management.
  2. High Season includes the festive period of December–January, as well as Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
  3. Low Season includes the remainder of the ski season.
  4. The VSC operates seven (7) days per week, weather permitting.
  5. Operating hours: • Weekdays: 09:00–15:00 (last ascent at 14:30) • Weekends/Public Holidays: 09:00–16:00 (last ascent at 15:30) Hours may be modified due to weather or snow conditions.
  6. Refund of RFID cards (€5.00) is available at the cashier until 15:30 (Low Season) and 16:30 (High Season).
  7. After March 1st, operating hours may be modified due to temperature conditions.
  8. The VSC reserves the right to suspend or limit lift operation for safety reasons without refund.
  9. Special ticket discounts due to reduced operation are determined exclusively by VSC–ETAD S.A. Management.
  10. In case of adverse weather at opening time, up to three (3) hourly suspensions may be granted. Continued adverse conditions result in full-day closure.

  1. Visitors are responsible for informing themselves about prices, conditions, and terms of use via the Info Desk and official website.

SKI LIFT USE TERMS

  1. Boarding order must be respected; failure results in loss of priority.
  2. Lift operators’ instructions must be strictly followed.
  3. Children under 12 years of age or under 1.25 m in height may use aerial lifts only when accompanied by an adult. Children under 6 years of age are prohibited.
  4. Safety bars must be lowered immediately after boarding and raised just before disembarking. Swinging is prohibited.
  5. Skis and snowboards must be worn, not carried.
  6. Boarding with food, beverages, or loose objects is prohibited.
  7. Backpacks must be held in front of the body.
  8. Persons with pacemakers must notify lift staff and bypass electronic gates.
  9. Solid lubricants are used for maintenance; the VSC bears no responsibility for contact effects.
  10. Protruding accessories that may cause entanglement are prohibited.
  11. Beginner skiers must use designated beginner lifts.
  12. Lift operation may be interrupted due to weather conditions.

SKI SLOPE USE TERMS AND SAFETY RULES

  1. Skiers must select slopes appropriate to their skill level and adjust speed accordingly.
  2. Off-piste skiing is undertaken at the skier’s sole responsibility.
  3. Priority must be given to downhill skiers. Stops must be made only at safe locations.
  4. Ski brakes and snowboard safety leashes are mandatory. Helmet use is mandatory.
  5. Equipment must be properly maintained.
  6. In case of accidents, cooperation with First Aid personnel is mandatory.
  7. Grooming machines always have priority.
  8. Kites, paragliders, and private snowmobiles are strictly prohibited.
  9. Sled use is allowed only in designated areas.
  10. Use of slopes after closing hours is prohibited.
  11. Hiking is permitted only on designated routes and during operating hours.
  12. Entry to slopes by non-skiers is prohibited.
  13. Persons under the influence of alcohol or substances are denied access.

SPECIAL RULES FOR SNOWBOARDERS

  1. The front foot must be secured with a safety leash.
  2. On surface and aerial lifts, the rear foot must be free.
  3. Before any direction change, especially before backward turns, look around.
  4. Stop only at the edge of slopes; do not sit or lie down on slopes.
  5. The snowboard must be placed on the snow with bindings side down.

FIS SKIER’S CODE OF CONDUCT

The official 10-point FIS Skier’s Code of Conduct applies in full and without modification.

ROADS AND PARKING AREAS

  1. Visitors must drive responsibly, considering vehicle capabilities, weather, and road conditions.
  2. Vehicles must carry snow chains, and drivers must know how to use them.
  3. Parking must follow VSC staff instructions; VSC bears no responsibility for accidents or damage.

ENVIRONMENT AND CLEANLINESS

  1. Visitors must use waste bins and keep the mountain environment clean.
  2. Water, paper, and packaging should be used sparingly; recycling bins must be used when available.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL

For ski equipment rental, visitors should contact rental shops in advance. VSC bears no responsibility for lack of equipment.

TICKETS AND RFID CARDS

  1. All tickets are personal and non-transferable.
  2. Tickets are loaded onto reusable RFID cards (€5.00 refundable).
  3. RFID cards must not be folded and should be kept away from magnetic fields, heat sources, credit cards, or phones.
  4. Cards can be returned for a €5.00 refund if in good condition.
  5. RFID cards must be worn on the left shoulder for automatic detection.
  6. Tickets must be presented upon request.
  7. Use of lifts without a valid ticket is a legal offense.
  8. Misuse of tickets, including using another person’s ticket, results in confiscation and fines.
  9. Annual and discounted tickets require documentation and recording of name, category, and photo on the RFID card.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR TICKET ISSUANCE

  1. STUDENT: Up to 25 years of age, with a valid student ID certified for each ski season.
  2. ISIA COACH: Valid Coach Card certified by the Panhellenic Association of Ski Coaches. This category also includes coaches of athletic clubs/academies, requiring Coach Card, professional license, and club contract. Special ticket price applies for training groups over 10 people.
  3. ATHLETE – ACTIVE: Registration with Hellenic Ski Federation or E.O.O.A. certificate. Includes current national mountaineering–climbing team members.
  4. SENIOR CITIZEN (65+): Police ID.
  5. VETERANS (75+): Police ID.
  6. PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWD): gov.gr certificate with photo ID (includes accompanying person if applicable).
  7. ACCOMPANYING STAFF of visiting teams during competitions: Written certificate from E.O.X.A. and coordination with VSC Management.
  8. STUDENT (6–18 years): Student ID or Police ID.
  9. CHILD UP TO 6 YEARS: Birth Certificate.
  10. SECOND & ADDITIONAL CHILDREN: Family Status Certificate, with all family tickets issued.
  11. Ski tickets for daily use, minimum charge €5.00, are available to children under 6 (accompanied by skiing adult) and PWD (certificate via gov.gr & ID).

NOTE: Accompanying persons and mountain guides transporting groups of over 25 non-skiing visitors are entitled to free transport on Sarantovrisi 1 lift (two persons per group).
